5 Fab Floral Themed Wedding Ideas
Once over, flowers were confined to the brides bouquet and buttonholes. But these days with so much creativity in wedding planning, florals can set the scene for your entire wedding. Here are 5 of our favourite ways to work the theme . . .
1 - The Dress
With more and more brides looking for that extra wow factor, a fabulous floral gown is one way to get heads turning!
The key is to team a beautiful floral fabric with a classic shape that is synonomous with bridal, allowing you to make a statement but still be very much a bride. Our White Rose Graceful gown pictured below achieves this beautifully with its soft pastel pink floral fabric, overlayered with ivory organza. Stunningly unforgettable!
2 - Bridesmaids
Not quite brave enough for a floral bridal gown? . . . let your bridemaids blossom instead!
This season we have seen some beautiful floral fabrics introduced into our bridesmaid range. We are loving the subtle patterns and muted shades, even just the name of Dessy's 'Lavender Garden' colour option conjures up all sorts of romantic outdoorsy imagery . . . imagine the wedding photos!
The floral bridesmaid option also works well with another major trend right now of 'mix & match bridesmaids'. If you have more than 3 bridesmaids, try mixing a couple of full floral dresses with some complimentary block colour dresses, building up a colour palate that you can work with throughout the wedding.
For a more subtle nod to the floral theme, look towards True Bride styles which feature floral lace work and embelishments.
3 - Hair
Pinterest addicts brace yourselves . . . Bold flower crowns, a spray of Roses, Daisies placed in braids, Gypsophila weaved into plaits, the list goes on! There are so many ways you can go with this so get pinning!
If your style is more glam than garden, ditch the foliage and bling it up! Ivory & Co have some amazing flower shaped headpiece and combs, adorned with crystals & pearls. Their delicate leafy shaped hair vines hit the spot too and a so versitle to wear.
4 - Real Flower Confetti
For the perfect 'Just married' confetti shot, why not have your ushers hand out real flower petal confetti to the guests from pretty baskets or in individual cones. Not only will the shot be perfectly colour coordinated with your scheme, but it also gets your guests involved in the fun!
Natural petals are biodegradable too, so have no negative impact on the environment and also means most venues will be happy for you to scatter it on their grounds.
5 - Floral Features
A well placed feature can really set the scene and you can get really creative with this one!For the ceremony, why not say 'I Do' under a beautifully decorated archway or say your vows infront of a suspended floral backdrop.
At the reception, use what nature gave you and decorate trees and shrubs with individual flower heads, or instead of a photobooth, create a 'walled garden' with quirky floral props and have your photographer set up polaroid camera.
We are definately feeling the LOVE for these floral letters that our Blush bride Hannah chose for her summer wedding.
